Warehouse Services

Millard Refrigerated Services provides product handling, storage and distribution in clean, modern refrigerated warehousing and distribution facilities in the United States. Services include everything from traditional storage and logistics support to customized services like exporting and product tempering.

Fresh Meat Distribution

Fresh Meat storage is a specialty for Millard. Millard's bar code scanning inventory management system ensures code data compliance. Scanning is also an efficient mode of capturing catch weight data. Daily cycle counting is performed to ensure inventory accuracy.

Boxing & Defrosting

Millard is an expert in the red meat industry, assuring adherence to proper handling procedures. Our facilities in West Omaha, Nebraska; Des Moines and Iowa City, Iowa; and Louisville, Kentucky, have USDA defrost operations for fresh meat products. Water and/or air defrost are available, as well as air defrost for finished products.

Inventory Management

Radio frequency scanning eliminates most inventory challenges by eliminating the delays of data input. Inbound and outbound scanning updates inventory instantly. This technology allows Millard to claim extremely high accuracy in order selection.

Customers who aren't satisfied with their own inventory system can take advantage of Millard's system. Using one central phone number, the network gives customers access to real-time, accurate inventory and activity reports of product, at any stage of distribution, for all Millard locations.

Customers can even review receiving, shipping and inventory reports from the previous two years. Millard's "just in time" inventory service monitors the peaks and valleys of customers inventories so they don't store more product than they need, thus paying unnecessary storage costs.

Blast Freezing

Blast freezing capacities exceed 8,500,000 pounds per day. Every Millard facility has blast freezing capabilities, and as a measure of quality control, an USDA inspection room at each location.

Material Handling

Our MHE program improves productivity and reduces facility operating costs. It includes a preferred supplier program which reinforces facility consistency for all equipment purchases. Preventive maintenance programs (based on hour meters) keep equipment performing at peak operation. Then, after 5 years of useful life, our fleet replacement program initiates replacement of all equipment in each facility. The average age of Millard's MHE is 2.2 years.
