Efficiency and Quality

Our approach is simple: Millard's success depends on our customer's success. To excel, we constantly improve the services, facilities and technology we provide. Our employees are driven by a work ethic that strives for continuous improvement in the way we deliver customer service day in and day out. Only customer satisfaction can fuel this dedication to performance excellence.

Material Handling Equipment (MHE)

Our MHE program improves productivity and reduces facility operating costs. It includes a preferred supplier program which reinforces facility consistency for all equipment purchases. Preventive maintenance programs (based on hour meters) keep equipment performing at peak operation. Then, after 5 years of useful life, our fleet replacement program initiates replacement of all equipment in each facility. The average age of Millard's MHE is 2.2 years.

Millard Energy Management System (MEMS)

In refrigerated storage, energy efficient equipment and designs are essential. Our commitment to energy efficiency resulted in this special system. MEMS was instituted to identify areas of Millard facilities and operations where energy loss could be minimized. Each facility's dock features a sloping roof design to reduce total cube refrigeration, specialized lighting that uses less energy with less heat output, and fast action freezer doors that reduce temperature loss.

Food Safety

As part of an extensive quality control program, Millard has established a Food Safety Program. This program is designed to meet the many regulatory and industry requirements that apply to cold storage. The Food Safety Program is audited by AIB, the independent organization recognized internationally for setting food safety standards. Millard has averaged "Superior" ratings of 900+ since initiating the program. This achievement reflects Millard's commitment to providing quality services to its customers.

Labor Management

Millard has engineered labor standards which enable our warehouse management to monitor productivity and daily work assignments. The standards provide Millard with the ability to determine the number of hours required to meet the shipping needs of the day, and to monitor the progress of the order selection throughout the day. Adjustments in employee utilization are made throughout the day based on need.
